In a game that might have been a pitchers duel from the start if both hurlers hadn’t been too wild, Owensboro took advantage of four base on balls and four wild pitches to eke out a 6-5 win over the Hopkinsville team.
The Oilers were almost placed on equal footing with the Hoppers because of eight passes and one wild pitch issued by McCarthy. Each team committed three errors.
