The Owensboro Pirates made a clean sweep of their two game series with the Paducah Indians, first half champions, by downing Ben Tincup’s Charges 2-1, in a ten-inning thriller at South Side Park here today.

The new entrants into the Kitty League out hit the visitors 11-8 and played errorless ball afield to give Durheim the nod over his mound rival, Woods. The Pirates Jumped off to a one run lead in the third frame scoring on a single by Hayden, a tribe error, a single by Durheim and a fielder’s choice.

The Redskins evened the count in the 8th on a single by Cropenbaker, a double by Ivy and a single by Cannon.

The Buccaneers won the contest in the tenth when Turlington started the stanza with a vicious double off the left field fence. Durheim was intentionally passed and the bases were filled on an infield single by Clements. Turlington beat Shortstop Bestudik’s throw to the plate on Fox’s grounder.
