John “Lefty” Swank, Union City’s all-star Kitty League pitcher, struck out 10 men and had Owensboro under control for 6 innings here tonight, but in the seventh a barrage of 4 hits and 2 errors gave the Pirates 4 runs and a 6-4 victory.

Manager Hugh Wise catcher’s mit changed his for a pitcher’s glove and hurled effectively for Owensboro and also led their attack with 3 singles. Bill Shewey made 2 hits for Union City to run his consecutive hitting streak to 29.
