Mayfield Loses Again

A booster day crowd of approximately 300 persons saw the Owensboro Pirates defeat the Mayfield Clothiers by a score of 9 to 1 here today.

The victory was the fifth in a row for the Pirates. Manager Hugh Wise, regular catcher, was on the mound for Owensboro and pitched shut out ball until the ninth when Mayfield pushed over its lone counter. Wise, with the aid of the fielders, sent down in order the first 14 men to face him.

Johnson, new member of the Pirate crew, who was received in a trade with Mayfield last night in which the Clothiers got Justice, poled out four hits in five trips to the plate.
