Owensboro Evens Series
Owensboro evened a two game series today by bunching their hits in the sixth and seventh seventh innings to gain a 7 to 4 victory over Hopkinsville. Lefty Gassaway settled down after a bad start and held the Hoppers to three hits in the last eight innings. Knickmeyer, on the mound for the losers, whiffed 11 men.
Manager Hugh Wise drove in three of the Owensboro runs with a triple and a single. A pinch hit by Veazy, formerly of Fulton, in the sixth inning put the Pirates in the lead for the first time.
